Nottingham Conferences unveils new campaign

Group plans year-long push for conference and event offer

Nottingham Conferences has unveiled a 12-month awareness campaign to promote the Nottingham and East Midlands region's conference and event offer.

The campaign will kick off in the new year with a fam trip for over 60 agents, in conjunction with Experience Notts and key hotels and conference venues throughout the city.

Delegates will visit several venues over the weekend, including the East Midlands Conference Centre (EMCC) for an exhibition style venue show representing more than 40 venues and support services throughout Nottinghamshire.

The weekend will also include chocolate tasting, ghost walks, a gala dinner, and indoor golf and ice skating at Nottingham Ice Arena.

Nottingham Conferences marketing manager Kirstie Danzey said: "Our year-long awareness campaign is designed to increase awareness of Nottingham as a conference and events destination, and the fam trip is a great opportunity for us to kick off our activity and to showcase our facilities and demonstrate the opportunities Nottingham has to offer."

Nottingham Conferences, which represents the University of Nottingham's conference facilities, will have brought £64.3m to the local economy by the end of 2008.
