Maritz name goes in Grass Roots rebrand

New events and communications division to incorporate Maritz, MMM, HBI and DMS

The Maritz Europa name has disappeared from the events industry as parent company Grass Roots Group rebrands its UK event offer.

Maritz - acquired by Grass Roots in 2006 - becomes the events and communications division of Grass Roots.

This division incorporates the parent company's other recent acquisitions: venue specialist HBI (rebranded Grass Roots HBI), delegate management firm DMS (now Grass Roots DMS) and experiential specialist MMM, also rebranded Grass Roots.

"We are not changing any locations or jobs because our clients need continuity," said divisional managing director Nick Bender. "The brand change is a landmark in a journey, which I am excited and proud to lead."

Bender added: "The past two and a half years have an exciting time. We have acquired three terrific companies, and having moved the events division of Grass Roots UK into Marlow [what was Maritz' headquarters], we've created a centre of excellence in events management.

"We turned around our finances and posted record pre-tax profits of £1.2m, so we have proved ourselves as a standalone company and are ready to move forward as the events and communications arm of Grass Roots."

Maritz Travel Company will continue to work with the Grass Roots Group as a preferred partner outside North America. Maritz Research continues to be owned by Maritz Inc. based in Germany and the UK.
