Overall visitor numbers to EIBTM grew six per cent to 7,992, of which 3,711 were hosted buyers, according to unaudited figures released today.

In a closing press conference today, Reed Travel Exhibitions Meeting and Incentive Events group exhibition director Paul Kennedy, said it was another record year for the show, which has seen attendance grow 30% since 2006.

"The number of hosted buyers was up 12.4% on last year, and I believe its the largest ever gathering of hosted buyers at a single event," he added.

Reed Travel Exhibitions also made several key announcements at the show, including a global partnership with MPI, which will see the two companies collaborate on training and professional development.

It also unveiled new branding for its IBTM portfolio of shows - EIBTM, CIBTM in Beijing, GIBTM in Abu Dhabi, and the new AIBTM in Baltimore, US.
