MPI and RTE sign global partnership deal at EIBTM

MPI and Reed Travel Exhibitions announce global partnership at EIBTM on training and professional development

MPI and Reed Travel Exhibitions announced a global partnership at EIBTM in Barcelona today that will see the two companies collaborate on training and professional development.
Under the partnership, which sees Reed become one of only four MPI global partners, MPI will use Reed's portfolio of events - EIBTM, GIBTM, CIBTM and AIBTM - to deliver its new Global Knowledge Plan to meetings professionals.
"In the past, people either had to come to our chapter meetings or conferences for MPI training and professional development, but we now want to go to them," said MPI CEO and president Bruce MacMillan. "We can use the platforms that Reed already has in place to run education programmes alongside our existing conferences."
The Global Knowledge Plan - an eight-step professional development programme - will be rolled out alongside each of the four shows. "We will be jointly promoting this plan at our shows as a place to come and learn," said Reed Travel Exhibitions Meeting and Incentive Events group exhibition director Paul Kennedy.
He added that the partnership will see Reed and MPI run co-located events in the Middle East and China, following on from the success of this year´s MPI Professional Education Conference in Dubai, which ran alongside GIBTM in Abu Dhabi for the first time.
