Global destination trade body DMAI (Destination Marketing Association International) has announced its first European accreditation - the Lille Convention Bureau.

The CVB joins the DMAI's Destination Marketing Accreditation Programme (DMAP), designed to "recognise organisations that meet or exceed industry standards".

"Being the first accredited European destination marketing organisation is extremely rewarding for the city of Lille, as well as our team, as they worked very hard for this," said Lille Convention Bureau managing director Charles-Eric Vilain XIIII.

Lille Convention Bureau is now one of 68 organisations accredited worldwide.

To become accredited, organisations must comply with 54 mandatory standards and 33 voluntary standards, covering topics including governance, finance, management, human resources, technology and visitor services.
