Brazil is planning to double the number of fam trips targeting UK C&I planners next year, as it looks to boost its C&I profile.
Chris Fuzinatto, UK director for Embratur, the Brazilian Tourist Office, said at WTM at Excel London that the destination has previously run three trips a year for UK planners, but plans to up this to six in 2009 in a bid to win more UK C&I business.
"We want to get the key incentive operators out to Brazil and show them how fantastic it is," he said. "Brazil has an advantage, in that it's not a destination that is saturated in the UK market."
Planners interested in attending a fam trip to Brazil should email firstname.lastname@example.org.
The increased focus on the UK C&I market follows BA's launch of a new thrice-weekly non-stop service from London to Rio de Janeiro last week, which should also help attract more business.
