Expotel: acquires Travelocity's hotel and conference booking system

Travelocity Business UK has sold its hotel and conference booking system to Expotel for an undisclosed sum.

Expotel has acquired the service's staff and its hotel and conference clients. The agency was unable to confirm the number of clients it has brought to the business.

The service, which has traded as First Option, will operate under the Expotel brand.

It offers a telephone, online and bill-back service for hotel bookings as well as a largely telephone-based conference venue search service.

Expotel chief executive Ian Burnley said: "The acquisition brings additional customers into our business. I hope and expect to find other acquisition opportunities like this to grow the UK business over the next couple of years."
