BUDGET £
HOW TO GET THERE South West Trains operates a direct train service between London Waterloo and Bournemouth, which takes less than two hours and costs £45 for an off-peak return.

WHERE TO STAY The Norfolk Royale Hotel is a centrally located four-star property, and has proven popular with the Portman Building Society and department store chain, Beales. The hotel boasts 38 new club bedrooms - the result of a recent multi-million pound facelift - several conference suites (the largest of which seats 120 theatre-style), a business centre and meeting rooms.

INCENTIVE CHOICES "As information about the artificial reef has spread, people are starting to see Bournemouth as a surfing destination," says Emma Hedges, company secretary at Bournemouth Surf School. Be at the front of the queue, with a surfing lesson on Boscombe beach. While there, check out the kitsch Wayne Hemingway-designed beach huts.

GALA DINNER VENUE Enjoy panoramic views from the Asian-inspired rooftop restaurant, Funki Sushi, which can comfortably seat 120 diners. Follow in the footsteps of Liverpool Victoria or JP Morgan and hire the venue exclusively.

PLACES TO PARTY Reserve a table at Sixty Million Postcards across the road. This sprawling pub-like venue has a large outdoor seating area and a lively atmosphere. The venue apparently gets its name from the 60 million postcards sent from Bournemouth every year.

MODERATE ££
HOW TO GET THERE Travel first class on an open return train ticket for £155 from London. If visiting from Scotland, fly with Ryanair for around £50.

WHERE TO STAY The Bournemouth Marriott Highcliff is a stylish four-star property perched on the clifftop adjacent to the BIC. With 690m2 of conference and exhibition space, plus 18 meeting rooms, the Highcliff is popular with political parties visiting Bournemouth in conference season. The hotel recently underwent a £5m refurbishment that has refreshed the restaurant, all 160 rooms, the exterior, conference and events suite, lobby, lounge and bar.

INCENTIVE CHOICES Get delegates' hands dirty with a chocolate-making team-building activity. Try the Chocolate Boutique Hotel, a newly renovated property in central Bournemouth, which specialises in team-building workshops.

GALA DINNER VENUE Since opening last year, the Print Room has proven popular with corporate groups, which flock to sample its high-end cuisine, exotic cocktails and sleek black-and-white interiors. There's a private dining room for 16 off the main restaurant, or larger groups can hire the entire space, which seats 160 diners.

PLACES TO PARTY There's nowhere else in Bournemouth quite like Rubyz, a burlesque-style cabaret restaurant, which can seat 120. Downstairs is a Moroccan-themed bar complete with tented ceilings and low-slung sofas. Both areas are available for corporate hire.

BANK-BREAKING £££
HOW TO GET THERE Take a private helicopter flight to the heliport at Bournemouth Airport or, in true James Bond style, rent a landing pad out at sea.

WHERE TO STAY Offering the epitome of luxury five-star accommodation is Chewton Glen, a Relais & Chateaux property located some 30 minutes outside Bournemouth on the edge of the New Forest. This palatial Georgian mansion - which is popular with prime ministers and chief executives - is set in 130 acres of manicured gardens and parkland, and boasts an award-winning restaurant as well as fantastic meeting facilities.

INCENTIVE CHOICES Depart from Poole Harbour or Christchurch on board a deluxe Sunseeker yacht for a day's sailing. Alternatively, relax in Chewton Glen's world-renowned spa.

GALA DINNER VENUE Billed as the South's finest privately owned gardens, Compton Acres offers corporate groups an exclusive venue for their event at its three-storey Italian villa. Sympathetically designed to fit in with the existing architecture, this elegant villa also comes equipped with the latest AV equipment, broadband internet connections and air conditioning.

PLACES TO PARTY 2020 is the self-proclaimed new super club in Bournemouth. This 930m2 nightclub offers two dance floors, six bars and three VIP areas, the largest of which can accommodate up to 75 guests.
