Leeds Hotel Association (LHA) is hosting a buyers' event in Milan next week to promote the Yorkshire city as a C&I destination to the Italian market.

The event will be held on 16 October at Palazzo Guirecinsulti. It will offer Italian buyers the opportunity to meet Leeds representatives and learn about the destination's C&I product.

The LHA, a consortium of 33 Leeds-based hotels and venues, is hosting the event in partnership with convention bureau Conference Leeds.

The event is part of a week long activity programme, Leeds in Milan, that was organised by Marketing Leeds to showcase the city's offering to the Italian market.

Leeds Hotel Association chairman Gordon Jackson said: "We are pleased to work with Marketing Leeds and Conference Leeds to raise the profile of the city and specifically to highlight what Leeds has to offer in terms of conferencing and meeting facilities. We look forward to meeting the buyers and inviting them to experience Leeds first hand when they attend a fam visit during 2009."
