NEC Group launches European venue drive

Partnership with Global Spectrum to drive venue management deals

The NEC Group has signed a venue management partnership with US group Global Spectrum that it claims will "provide a complete management solution to operate venues such as stadiums and arenas throughout Europe".

The companies began informal talks last year when they worked on a contract together and are now working on a more formal basis, as Global Spectrum Europe in Association with The NEC Group, to pursue facility management opportunities. Richard Spencer has been appointed as the new director of business development.

NEC Group director of arenas Phil Mead said: "We are delighted to announce this new collaboration, which is about combining our assets to create a dynamic new force in the European venue sector. We are industry leaders with 30 years experience, while Global Spectrum has a worldwide reputation for excellence, exceptional marketing skills and a rapidly growing portfolio of venues that are the envy of many operators.

Comcast-Spectacor is the parent company of Global Spectrum and senior vice president Michel Sauers said of the move: "We want to grow our business in Europe and partnering with The NEC Group will help us achieve our goal.
