UK agency Avenue Events has unveiled plans to open franchises in Sydney, New York and Cape Town, and a wholly owned office in China next year.

Joint managing director Peter Kemsley said Avenue Events was finalising the franchise partnerships and anticipated that the three offices would open in 2009.

"They will assume our identity and business model and we will train and guide them on how to deliver the business," said Kemsley. "They will start up primarily on the venue-sourcing side but then develop to provide full event management services."

Avenue Events currently owns offices in Surrey, Avenue Events (South), and Yorkshire, Avenue Events (North).

The agency is also targeting the Chinese market and it plans to open a wholly owned office in the destination within the next year.

It is also launching a new website, www.avenueevents.co.uk, on 22 September, and is poised to launch a roadshow designed to raise awareness of the company and educate clients about running events on a tight budget. It will be held on 27 November at Goodwood Park Hotel, Sussex, and on 2 December at Crathorne Hall in Yorkshire.
