Lawson: leaving The Brewery

Claire Lawson is to leave the post of general manager at The Brewery to take on the position of commercial director at The Grove.

Lawson will take up her new role on 3 November after seven years at The Brewery. She replaces sales and marketing director Tracey Greaves, who is going freelance.

"I have been at The Brewery for a long time and I love it but I am ready for a new challenge and I didn't want to work anywhere in direct competition," said Lawson.

Sales and marketing will be the main focus of her new role: "My remit will be to drive all the key revenue streams," she said. She added that there was potential to raise awareness overseas of The Grove's C&I offering.

Prior to working for The Brewery, Lawson was general manager at the Birmingham Marriott Hotel.

The Brewery, which is owned by EC&O Venues, has recruited the company's commercial manager, Harminder Bahl, on a temporary basis to the position of general manager until a full-time replacement for Lawson is found.
