The Boat Hotel in the highlands of Scotland has added 13 new rooms and refurbished its existing suites.

Located in the Cairngorms National Park, the 34-room property's new rooms have king-size beds, flat-screen TVs and power showers. The garden wing rooms have private patios overlooking the mountains.

The property, which can be privately hired, has conference space for up to 60 delegates. It also has a strong incentive offering as it is close to mountains and the River Spey, where a number of outdoor activities can be arranged, and it is beside the Boat of Garten golf course.

Indoors, a seven-course tasting menu is on offer at the hotel's Capercaille Restaurant, and more than 80 single-malt whiskys are available at the lively Osprey Bistro.

The Boat Hotel general manager Emmanuel Moine said: "We have made a substantial investment in the modernisation and expansion of the hotel. This location is popular for business meetings and conferences, and we have developed our venue to meet that demand."
