Agency Adding Value has teamed up with industry stalwart John Hooker to launch an events industry consultancy.

Adding Value Consulting (AVC) launched on September 1 and is designed to "help organisations grow their business, create best practice and deal with change management", Hooker said.

AVC is jointly owned by Hooker and the main Adding Value agency. Hooker's role is managing partner, reporting to Adding Value chairman Randle Stonier. AVC will be run from Hooker's Milton Keynes base and see him supported by freelancers. It will operate as a separate enterprise to the main Adding Value agency, Hooker added.

"There are a number of convergent issues out there from the corporate procurement situation, to the increase in regulations and filling the skills vacuum, so there is a real need for an organisation like this," Hooker said.

AVC has a first client confirmed, which Hooker would only describe as "a European service provider, looking to be better equipped to focus on the UK market". An email campaign is being planned to promote AVC, accompanied by speaking engagements by Hooker.
