Intercontinental Hotels Group (IHG) is boosting South Korea's C&I offering with the addition of nearly 1,000 new rooms.

The group has signed an agreement to manage three new properties under the Intercontinental Hotels & Resorts, Holiday Inn Hotels & Resorts, and Holiday Inn Suites brands.

The developments are due for completion in the second quarter of 2009 and will boost IHG's 1,600 rooms in South Korea by a further 1,000.

Located in the Pyeongchang district of Gangwon-do Province, a ski resort east of Seoul, the new properties will be part of a larger recreational development, the Alpensia Project.

The Intercontinental Alpensia Pyeong Chang Resort will offer 236 rooms, the Holiday Inn Alpensia Pyeong Chang Resort will have 182 rooms, and the four-tower Holiday Inn Alpensia Pyeong Change Suites will offer 551 rooms.
