Hotel and conference venue group Principal Hayley has opened its first Spanish property.

La Mola, near Barcelona, next to the St Llorenc de Munt national park, opened this week and offers 26 meeting spaces.

The purpose-built venue has 186 four-star rooms and a spa with five hydrotherapy pools, gym and treatment rooms.

The property is adjacent to the Royal Golf Club, which was designed by Greg Norman and offers two 18-hole courses and a nine-hole course.

An historic manor house, Mas Bonvilars, located on the property's estate is also available for private parties and receptions.

The venue has a strong focus on sustainability and has solar panels and a wastewater treatment plant.

Principal Hayley Group chief executive Tony Troy said: "La Mola is the only venue in Spain designed to meet the requirements of the C&I market and is ideally situated, with state-of-the-art amenities, beautiful surroundings and excellent transport links."
