Aviator, Farnborough Airport

Farnborough Airport's facilities have been bolstered with the opening of the Aviator property, managed by McCulloch Unique Hotels. The property offers 150 rooms and 19 Sky Studio suites. Among its leisure facilities, it offers an exercise studio, an on-site brasserie and deli, as well as the Skybar cocktail bar that overlooks the runway. For conference guests, seven rooms are available that can seat 100 delegates theatre-style. The hotel also has a partnership with the airport's events venue, Five, which offers 4,400m2 of exhibition and event space. Web www.aviatorfarnborough.co.uk

Malaysian maison

The Club at The Saujana, Kuala Lumpur

This 105-room luxury boutique hotel is the latest property to be operated by General Hotel Management. Guests can enjoy the surrounding 400 acres of tropical gardens and its two 18-hole championship golf courses, or in-room spa treatments. The property also offers two meeting rooms that can seat 78. Grand Jersey Hotel, Jersey

The Grand Jersey Hotel has unveiled the final stage of its £15m revamp with the opening of its luxury spa. The 743m2 spa offer special treatments from spa brand Elemis and hair-care brand GHD. Its opening marks the final element of the 122-room hotel's 18-month refurbishment. The Grand's Park Suites meeting rooms were relaunched last year, along with the fine dining restaurant. Mandarin Oriental, Moscow

The Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group is to open a luxury property in the centre of Moscow in 2011, adding 237 rooms to the city's capacity. Web www.mandarinoriental.com

Intercontinental, Kuwait Downtown

Set to open in early 2010, this 200-room property will feature a 600m2 banquet hall and high-end meeting facilities. Web www.ichotelsgroup.com

Shangri-La, Villingili

The Villingili resort and spa in the Maldives is due to open at the end of 2008, it features an underwater nature trail that will allow guests to explore the resort's coral reef. Web shangri-la.com

Premier Inn, Aldgate

Whitbread is set to open a 325-room Premier Inn in Aldgate, London. The chain is aiming to grow by more than 1,000 rooms by 2012 as part of its expansion plans. Web premierinn.com

JW Marriott Hotel, Gurgaon

JW Marriott is to open a 206-room property in suburban Delhi, in mid-2009. The property in Gurgaon will include a 2,000m2 spa among its leisure facilities. Web marriott.com

Hyatt Regency, Chongqing

This 354-room property in the central Chinese city of Chongqing's business district is set to open in 2012 and will be part of the Ocean Plaza development. Web www.hyatt.com

Amwaj, Rotana

Due to open in November, this Dubai resort by the Rotana company will include 302 rooms and suites. It is located in the Jumeirah Beach Residence complex. Web www.rotana.com

Radisson SAS Tala Bay Resort, Jordan

The Rezidor Hotel Group has opened a property in the south of Jordan, the Radisson SAS Tala Bay Resort, Aqaba. This 336-room resort on the Red Sea offers excellent diving and snorkelling opportunities for guests with an impressive array of coral reefs to explore. It has an outdoor fitness centre and water-sports facilities, as well as five heated pools. Two pool bars, an outdoor grill and several restaurants are also available. The resort's meeting facilities include two spaces that both occupy 100m2 of space and come with access to a high-speed internet connection. Web www.aqaba.radissonsas.com

Thai time-out

Centara Grand Beach Resort Samui, Thailand

The Centara Grand Beach Resort Samui's £3m renovation is now complete. Located on Koh Samui's Chawent beach, the property has had its colonial-style lobby revamped and its 203 sea-facing rooms updated. The spa has also been enhanced, and its services include traditional beauty treatments along with chromotherapy and private couple suites equipped with Jacuzzis, while its pool suites also include their own private plunge pools. Its meetings rooms can host up to 160 banquet-style and the resort's nine restaurants and bars have flavours derived from many cultures, and offer live Brazilian entertainment and Japanese cuisine. Boutique property Morgan's Hotel in New York revealed its revamp by designer Andree Putman. The property's new look incorporates furniture and artwork (17.07.08).

Le Meridien Barcelona expanded its C&I facilities with a lounge that can hold 230 (24.07.08).

Swissotel opened a 230-room hotel in Bremen with eight meeting spaces (31.07.08).

Premier Inn is to boost its portfolio by 1,000 rooms as part of its expansion plans (14.08.08).
