PFPR: launching events division

Automotive PR specialist PFPR Communications is formalising its events operation with a dedicated standalone division, PFPR Events.

The Kent-based operation - which has a history of live work as part of its PR set-up - now has three dedicated events staff. The division is being led by Ashley Frater, who most recently worked client side with Pfizer and has also spent time with the likes of THA, Grass Roots Group and Rand.

The events division soft-launched earlier this year and has since handled events for brands such as Dodge, Mazda and Mitsubishi (Europe). Frater said that while PFPR Events was initially focusing on the automotive sector, he was keen to attract business from the financial services and pharmaceutical sectors.

"Across the team we have a lot of experience in the pharma sector for example, so we will be looking to expand our coverage," Frater said. "The PFPR business has always been known for focusing on client objectives and brand messaging and that's what we are doing with events. On its own, logistics is just booking things, whereas for our clients we want to be seen as an extension of their own company."

Next month, PFPR Events is going on an awareness drive including the relaunch of its website. Upcoming events include a product launch for an unnamed car marque and a series of regional events for Mazda.
