Hotel group Whitbread Hotels & Restaurants has concluded several new UK property deals that will boost its Premier Inn portfolio by more than 1,000 rooms.

The company has signed deals to open two Premier Inn hotels in London, which will boost its room tally by 500. The properties will be located in Aldgate and Greenwich and will open before the 2012 Olympics.

It also plans to open properties in Preston and Doncaster, which will offer 136 and 135 rooms respectively.

Among other openings scheduled to take place before 2011 are properties in Glasgow Business Park, Kendall, Newport, Trowbridge and Rugeley.

Whitbread Hotels & Restaurants property director Mark Anderson said: "Our property acquisitions team is identifying prime sites for development across the UK and Ireland as we roll out our expansion plans."
