EICC continues scholarship programme

Edinburgh venue puts £6,000 behind student events scheme

Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC) has announced that is to support a second undergraduate event student at the city's Napier University Business School.

The EICC Scholarship is worth £6,000 across the years to the winning student. The second rollout follows inaugural scholarship student Zophie Horsted, who has just graduated with a first class honours degree in Festival and Leisure Management.

Napier University Business School EICC Head of Marketing, Sandy Pearson said: "Business tourism in Scotland is a £900 million a year industry and it needs the brightest and best young people to sustain its growth. We urge other businesses that operate in this marketplace to follow our lead and support degree level tourism education by the scholarship route."

The EICC scholarship includes guaranteed work placements, vacational employment opportunities and company-based mentoring.
