The Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park has announced the launch of its new open air restaurant, the Park Terrace. The restaurant overlooks Hyde Park below Serpentine Lake, and will be open for early morning breakfasts, lunches, traditional afternoons and dinners until 30 September. The Park Terrace combines quarried Portland stonework with elegant teak furniture and plants and flowers in an effort to create the feel of an English country garden. Head chef Chris Tombling’s seasonal menu features dishes such as asparagus, pea and bean salad, and roast English lamb with baby summer vegetables. On hot summer days, a ‘Terrace butler’ will be on hand with a selection of sun screens, iced towels, water sprays and a sunglasses cleaning service.
