New GM for London's Dorchester

Roland Fasel has been named as the new general manager of London’s Dorchester Hotel. Dorchester Collection chief executive Christopher Cowdray has been covering the GM role and will hand over to Fasel in mid-September. Cowdray said of the appointment: “Roland is an outstanding manager and brings a wealth of experience. I am sure that with his leadership qualities and passionate commitment the hotel will achieve even greater success”. Fasel joins from the Intercontinental London Park Lane where he has been General Manager since 2004. His 23-year career has seen him work at properties such as Badrutt’s Palace in St. Moritz and five years with the Shangri-La Group. In his new role Fasel will be responsible for overseeing a team of 600 employees at the 250-room Dorchester. He will also take on the role of UK regional director for the Dorchester Collection, which currently includes the Beverly Hills Hotel in Los Angeles, the Hôtel Plaza Athénée and Le Meurice in Paris and the Hotel Principe di Savoia in Milan.
