Hand Picked unveils C&I marketing drive

Hand Picked Hotels is increasing its focus on the C&I market as it looks to further boost its portfolio to 20 hotels by 2012. The independent hotel chain, which currently owns 17 country house hotels around the UK, is launching a new web site this month, www.handpickedmeetings.co.uk, which is targeted at meeting and event planners. This follows a marketing drive in June targeting the C&I market, which saw the group’s sales team deliver cream teas to over 200 meeting bookers to raise awareness of the Hand Picked product. The group has also developed the Hand Picked Service Promise, outlining what it describes as “the high standards of service and attention to detail that corporate clients can expect when planning an event across any of the hotels in the group”. “We’re relatively unknown but growing rapidly,” said Handpicked marketing manager Stephen Callis. “We really want to be considered as a serious contender for business meetings and events.” Earlier this year, Hand Picked acquired three new properties and has also spent £13m in refurbishing three existing properties including Rookery Hall in Cheshire (pictured).
