Meet England to launch unique venues guide

Meet England, the domestic business tourism arm of Visit Britain, is launching a unique venues guide. The 72-page guide, Unique England, will showcase more than 60 unusual venues available for corporate events and is due to be launched on 6 March. Meet England manager Sarah Woodford said: “Unique England is an at-a-glance inspirational guide to planning your next event.” The free guide is being distributed to the organisation’s database and given out at trade shows including Imex, she said. From 7 March, it can be ordered from Meet England’s website, www.meetengland.com. As well as the UK, Woodford said it was designed to target the French, German, Irish and Dutch markets. UK-based agency and corporate event planners are being invited to a launch event also on 6 March, which will be held at 45 Millbank, part of Chelsea College of Art and Design in London. Later this year, Meet England plans to carry out online marketing campaigns, details of which have yet to be finalised, said Woodford. It also plans to hold live events, entitled Meet the cities, in Germany and France, which will directly target buyers in autumn. “Some overseas buyers don’t know the destination beyond London so we are keen to push the England message,” said Woodford.
