World Events launches European base

Agency World Events has opened its first European mainland office in Amsterdam as it looks to firm up its commitment to offering “global event solutions”. The office will be headed by European development director Andrew Winterburn and staffed by a six-strong account team. Recruitment is expected to be complete by the end of February and Winterburn said the account handlers would mostly be European nationals so as to cover off all the major European languages and cultures. World Events currently has UK and US offices and the Amsterdam base “will become the nucleus for growing the business in mainland Europe and will be supported by a number of smaller offices in key markets”, Winterburn said. “Our strategy for Europe is built around a hub and spoke network of operations in each of our key markets of Holland, Belgium, Germany, France, Spain and Italy,” he added. “Key to the plan is genuine integration with our UK and US offices, linked through a new account management structure which will deliver seamless event planning and management for clients, regardless of their location or the event destination.”
