THA throws down the challenge to students

Agency THA Group is partnering Leeds Metropolitan University to offer postgraduate students practical event experience. The agency will pose a brief to MSc events management students at the university’s UK Centre for Events Management. Teams of students, taking the masters level creative thinking in events course, will pitch ideas in response to the brief in January. The winning team will be invited to participate in team building or incentive activities at an international event being organised by THA Group next year. THA Group director - client delivery specialists John Hooker recently visited the centre and explained the assignment to students. “This partnership provides a great opportunity for our company to engage with future event specialists and strategic leaders,” said Hooker. “The challenge we are setting these events postgraduates will enable them to apply academic creative theory and processes to a real event scenario.” UK Centre for Events Management head Rai Shacklock said the partnership would provide the students with experience relevant to the industry. “After more than ten years at the leading edge of events management education, we are pleased to continue pioneering new ways of preparing our students for industry demands and to reflect the needs of this dynamic global industry.”
