Accountants top festive party league

Accountants have gone from being the tamest Christmas partygoers to throwing the wildest and most expensive end of year bashes, a survey commissioned by Confex Group has revealed. Some 65% of 300 event industry professionals surveyed by Confex claimed accountants held better Christmas get-togethers than any other industry group and allocated the biggest budget to the annual event. The same poll last year saw accountants named as the least gregarious corporate group. Confex Group event director Duncan Reid said: “Despite the boring reputation accountants have, it would seem they know how to throw a good Christmas party.” Government organisations were found to be lacking in Christmas cheer, being the most miserly and holding the tamest parties. According to the survey findings, the biggest Christmas party spenders are: 1 Accountancy 2 Fashion 3 Media 4 IT 5 Manufacturing 6 Medical 7 Education 8 Government The wildest Christmas parties are thrown by: 1 Accountancy 2 Media 3 Fashion 4 Medical 5 IT 6 Manufacturing 7 Education 8 Government
