MCI acquisition adds to German base

MCI has added to its German operation with the acquisition of P’Concept Berlin. P’Concept, which will operate as MCI Berlin, was founded in 1991. Initially planned as a DMC for Berlin, it quickly added corporate events across Germany and then Europe, with particular strength in the financial sector, with clients including DZ Bank, McKinsey, Morgan Stanley and General Motors Bank. It currently has six staff and last year turned over £1m. “With the experienced talents of P’Concept joining our MCI Berlin office, we now have a solid base for further growth,” said MCI managing director (central Europe) Polo Looser. “This step strengthens our position and our client base.” P’Concept managing director Gerrit Jessen added: “My team and I are thrilled about the new opportunities and growth potential the merger with MCI will provide. Our goal is to further develop our live-communication business in the fields of corporate meetings, incentives and DMC-services. Our existing clients will be served with continuous quality and will benefit from the business network and the large global community MCI provides.” Jessen becomes director of the strengthened corporate division and has been tasked with driving MCI’s Pharma-, Event- and Live-Communication business. The move by MCI Germany follows the 2005 merger with the Berlin PCO Congress Partner.
