GSK aligns annual brand strategy events

Glaxosmithkline’s Nutritional Healthcare division has handed agency Indeprod its first full-service brief, as the blue chip synchronises its annual product briefings to internal staff and external buyers. The Nutritional Healthcare division includes brands such as Ribena and Lucozade and Indeprod has been on the department’s roster since the late 1990s, essentially covering off event production. This latest award however – in which Indeprod pitched against four other roster agencies – sees it add creative and logistics to its production remit. The move comes as the division looks “to provide the same brand experiences to both internal and external audiences” for the first time at its annual debriefs. The first session will see 200 key staff brought together on 18–20 September. This will be followed by a series of half-day presentations to groups of around 100 from across GSK’s trade channel partners across the subsequent ten weeks. Conceived by Indeprod’s new creative director, Jan Obara, the events will feature a main plenary area from which tunnels will lead to specific brand zones. “Each zone is being designed to reflect the character of the brand, bringing the concepts and imagery to life,” Obara said. GSK commercial planning controller Rachel Longhurst, added: “This is a key event in our calendar and we have put together an ambitious programme. We would not have entrusted its delivery to anyone other than Indeprod.”
