MCI posts £22.5m gross profit

MCI has posted a gross profit of £22.5m for the 2006 business year and the agency giant is predicting it to grow to £33.4m this year. The group’s turnover was £79.9m in the 2006 business year, compared to £56.7m in 2005. Its £22.5m gross profit represents a 24% increase on the previous year. Corporate clients generated 53.7% of MCI’s 2006 revenues and associations contributed 46.3%. It is predicting a 48% increase in gross profit, raising it to £33.4m, and a turnover of £117m in the 2007 business year. MCI president Roger Tondeur said at the Eventia Summer Conference that he wanted MCI to be one of the top six global C&I agencies that he predicts will run 80% of events within the next few years. “I want to be one of those companies – that is where I am taking my business,” he said. The group’s Geneva office was the top performer, contributing 35% of MCI’s revenue. Its Brussels office contributed 22%, while 10% was contributed by Paris and Lyon, 8% by the UK, 6% by Zurich and Stuttgart, 3% by Berlin and Vienna, 3% by Barcelona and Madrid and 2% by Singapore and Shanghai. MCI is now 20 years old and employs a staff of 615 in 19 offices and 13 countries.
