Scottish CVB targets associations with expansion

The Dundee & Angus Convention Bureau has expanded its team with the introduction of an association manager and two business tourism executives. “Business tourism is of great value to the Dundee and Angus area, generating £27 million to the local economy,” said Dundee & Angus Business Tourism Manager Karen Tocher. “The objective for the convention bureau is to increase this figure by 50% over the next ten years and this significant expansion will contribute considerably to meeting this aim.” The move sees Lorna Reid appointed as association manager for the bureau. She will be responsible for the development of the UK and International Association markets, with a main focus of growing the destinations market share. Reid has eight years experience as a marketing manager. Meanwhile newly appointed business tourism executive Tracy Duncan joins the CVB from Visit Scotland and has some 15 years experience in the sector and the final move sees Laura McGlashan also join the bureau as a Business Tourism Executive.
