About-turn sees Kerzner promote Attard

Henriette Attard, director of group and incentive sales at One & Only resorts, has seen her role extended by parent company Kerzner International to include the same job for its Atlantis, The Palm resort (opening in Dubai, November 2008) as she is currently performing for One & Only. The move marks a last-minute turnaround for Attard, who had already announced her resignation from One & Only to join Rocco Forte Hotels, again as director for group and incentive sales. “With The Palm we have taken the best of the Atlantis, Paradise Island property [Bahamas] and made it even better. This is a really great opportunity for me and in the end I couldn’t say no,” Attard said of the about-turn. She will continue to work out of Kerzner’s UK office, alongside Brett Armitage, vice president of sales for The Palm, and Claudia Majunke, vice president of sales for One & Only Resorts. “Since Henriette joined us, she has dramatically increased business for the group and consistently delivered on her sales targets,” said One & Only senior vice president of sales and marketing Helen McCabe-Young. “In addition she has successfully managed key client accounts and implemented critical communications programmes with our top customers, including the establishment of a travel advisory board. We are very pleased to announce the expansion of her role.” For its part, Rocco Forte Hotels is currently interviewing a shortlist of candidates for its vacant role, with a decision expected in the next few weeks.
