Northern agencies in DMC expansion

Silk Event Management and C2 Events are joining forces to launch a DMC for the North of England and Scotland. The managing directors of two event agencies, Silk's Nick Wagg and his counterpart at Wakefield-based C2 Events, Cheryl Clarke, will launch DMC All Points North on 1 June. “After much research, we found that there are excellent opportunities in the North of England and Scotland to provide a valuable on-the-ground resource for anyone wanting to organise events in both regions,” said Wagg. All Points North will be based in Silk Event Management’s offices in Macclesfield and will employ three staff, including Wagg and Clarke. Wagg said there were plans to establish additional offices in Liverpool and Glasgow in the next 12-18 months. The DMC will target the corporate sector in Europe and North America. “There’s a huge number of different business sectors across the whole spectrum of the corporate market that we want to come into,” said Wagg. “We will be drawing on all our resources from many years in business to pull it together, in order to help open the door. We will build by reputation rather than by having a mega blitz and hiring 50 staff.” Clarke said: “All Points North will draw on both our significant experience of running and managing international events across a wide range of sectors.”
