Surrey agency scores pan-Euro double

Surrey-based agency Competitive Edge is celebrating a double job win having secured contracts with automotive marque Renault and electronics giant Siemens. July sees a four-day incentive event for Renault’s top 50 French fleet buyers with a budget of £250,000. Delegates will be flown from across the Channel in a private jet and then helicoptered to the British F1 Grand Prix at Silverstone, where they will mingle with the Renault team. The trip will also see the group addressed by an Oxford University Boat Club coach and have a session on the water with a rowing crew. Elsewhere, vintage car driving and a speedboat trip to the Isle of Wight will also be part of the programme. The Competitive Edge is working with French agency Lever De Rideau on the project, with Lever handling the delegates and the British outfit handling event logistics. Competitive Edge director Bill Prosser said three French agencies pitched for the account and each competitor worked on it with two or three UK-based agencies. “The main reason we got it was that we never gave up – we just kept going back with more and more original ideas,” explained Prosser. Meanwhile, the German arm of electrical engineering and electronics company Siemens has appointed the Competitive Edge to run a conference for 120 German and UK-delegates in London on 21-22 June. The conference will be held at Savoy Place and involve Siemens selling services to IT buyers from the media industry.
