Oxford wins pitch for golf incentive

Oxford Motivation is to organise two reward trips to Spain for a new client. The agency has won a pitch to run two golf trips to southern Spain during the autumn for builders’ merchant Wolseley Group. Oxford Motivation director John Fisher said each trip would be two to three days long and details were currently being finalised. Delegates would comprise Wolseley’s major buyers and clients. The account win followed months of negotiation: "We had been talking to them for a year or more and one of the things we learned is that you may be very good and competent but it still takes time to win a client’s trust," said Fisher. "For anybody hoping to break into a new client, it takes nine to 12 months." He said Oxford Motivation won the account because it responded quickly and adhered to the client’s brief. The agency may have further work with Wolseley as it is pitching for several more pieces of business. Subsequent to Oxford Motivation’s acquisition by Indeprod, Fisher said they have started joint marketing work. "We are presenting to each other’s clients and the idea is to have a much wider range of services and products to offer clients," he added.
