Tapenade, the caterer and event management company, has won the corporate event management contract for the A1 Grand Prix series – billed as the ‘World Cup of Motorsport’ – through its 2006-2007 season. Tapenade received this booking as a result of its work at the Ryder Cup where the company managed the corporate hospitality and catering for 5,000 guests. Tapenade director, Paul Vesper, commented: “We received serious enquiries from new contacts during the Ryder Cup. It’s wonderful to know that your work is being appreciated and nothing illustrates this more than gaining bookings based upon a genuine ‘tried and tested’ basis.” Tapenade is managing the corporate hospitality at the twice-monthly events in destinations including China, Malaysia, the US and Czech Republic. Tapenade will oversee everything from the branding, menus, staffing and uniforms to sourcing the venues for the events, which will host between 1,000 and 3, 000 guests. The main objective is to achieve consistency in each of the host countries. Tapenade director, Tim Stevens, said: “We will establish a brand that will be evident at each of the A1GP events – it’s vital that the guests, teams and sponsors have a consistent experience of the brand across all venues. ” The A1GP series, featuring teams from 25 countries, began its 12-race season in Holland in October. Vesper added: “This partnership is very exciting for us particularly because of the multi-country nature of the overall event - we’re absolutely delighted to be on-board” Tapenade has gained its wealth of food design and event management experience in events ranging from wedding receptions to the Farnborough Air Show.
