Airport venue ramps up C&I offer

Park Inn Heathrow is opening a new conference centre on 1 April to cater for the demand for "hassle free" locations away from the centre of London. The 2,000m2 facility adds nine conference and meeting rooms to the hotel’s capacity and will be able to accommodate conferences of up to 700 delegates. The addition, which has taken a year to build at a cost of £10m, brings to 45 the number of meeting spaces at the Park Inn. Banu Fraquelli, director of sales and marketing said: “We have bookings already for the new centre and will be targeting international business, product launches, pharma training courses and exhibitions.” The new conference centre is part of an overall redevelopment of the former Le Meridien property, which was bought by Rezidor SAS in 2004. The company has invested a further £15m on the back and front of house areas, including a more contemporary look for the property. An as yet unnamed bar/restaurant is due to open next the centre, boasting the longest bar in Heathrow.
