Dublin invites UK buyers

Dublin Convention Bureau will host its first C&I workshop for the UK meeting market with a view to updating perceptions of the Irish capital. Held at Dublin’s Westin Hotel over the weekend of 20-22 October, the workshop comes in wake of a campaign targeting the UK earlier this year. "Our UK sales calls in April revealed that a lot of people were basing their knowledge of Dublin on memories from around five years ago," said Dublin Convention Centre chief executive Jean Evans. The CVB plans to update this with a three-day workshop that includes a treasure hunt across Dublin, a party at the Old Jameson Distillery and a visit to a selection of properties including the five-star Westin Hotel, The Westbury and The Conrad Dublin. "We want to use this opportunity to showcase the wide range of new facilities, hotels and incentives and give the Irish trade an opportunity to work with UK delegates,” Evans said. There are 33 suppliers from Dublin exhibiting, and 30 buyers from the UK are expected to attend.
