BA takes live-events route with PCI Fitch

British Airways has awarded PCI Fitch a three-year contract to handle global marketing and internal events for the airline. The work will include developing face-to-face events for staff and customers, as well as the relaunch of BA’s Club World product and a new cargo facility at Heathrow. “We’re delighted to appoint PCI Fitch,” said BA head of brands and marketing communications Jayne O’Brien. “We’re confident it will be an integral part of our strategy, which includes a greater focus on face-to-face events.” PCI Fitch managing director Peter Cowie, who oversaw the bid after joining the agency from JWT London earlier in the year, said: “BA recognised that we understood the brand and had an innovative approach.” The announcement marks one of several key wins for the agency since a recent restructuring of the WPP-owned shop. Other new successes include shorter-term work for HSBC and Nokia. “We want to keep on delivering big projects for premium brands,” said Cowie. BA joins the likes of Microsoft, Bentley, Boeing and General Motors on PCI Fitch’s client roster.
