VisitBrighton launches ambassador programme

Convention body Visit Brighton has launched an ambassador programme with the view to helping members of the academic, medical and professional world play a role in bringing £2m worth of conference business to Brighton. The programme hopes to increase the number of both national and overseas association conferences being held in the city. It will see elected ambassadors from various industry sectors assisted with practical help and advice on all aspects of organising conferences. This includes help with the bid documentation, venue sourcing, proposals for tours and social programmes, site inspection hosting, accommodation and delegate information. The programme also offers members access to ambassador networking events, fam trips and opportunities to meet peers and share best practise. VisitBrighton client services manager Julia Gallagher is leading the programme. She comments: "With over £200m of new developments, Brighton is recognised nationally and internationally as one of the UK's leading conference destinations. "Brighton is a seat of learning, of pioneering research and business, so we have some of the world’s finest on our doorstep." Gallagher added that VisitBrighton had a target of increasing association conference business by £2million by the end of 2007.
