Premier London hotel joins US meeting association

London’s Intercontinental Park Lane is the first European member of the US meetings association, Associated Luxury Hotels International (AHLI). The association, which serves the US market, has more than 80 member hotels across the US, Canada, Mexico and The Caribbean. The London-based property will be its first in the European market. It means clients will be able to book rooms and meeting space through one of the its 12 US sales offices. Associated Luxury Hotels president and CEO David Gabri said that AHLI was "strategically positioned to best serve meeting planners in North America". "Expanding our international membership helps meeting planners by providing to them easier access to these exceptional venues and it helps the properties to become more accessible to meeting planners in North America. "The globalization of the meetings, incentive, and convention business is increasingly apparent. Our goal is to meet the demands of our professional meeting clients and offer them an array of member options for their groups." The London Intercontinental Park Lane is set to reopen later this year after a £60m renovation. It will unveil 387 elegant rooms, 1,858m2 of meeting space, and a new restaurant, Theo Randall.
