Hilton Arc de Triomphe receives two seals of approval

Iconic Paris landmark hotel Hilton Arc de Triomphe has become the first in the world to be awarded two international quality seals: ISO 9001 for its working processes and SA 8000 for social accountability. The awards, presented by the certification body BVQI, indicate that the hotel has met specific goals of quality assurance. The international ISO 9001 standard is a quality management system that awards working processes. The hotel's suppliers and subcontractors also undertake to respect the stipulations of this standard. Procedures include all the hotel's activities from preparations for the guest's arrival to room cleaning and equipment maintenance. The international SA 8000 standard is a guide to build a management system that shows the hotel has met standards of social accountability. Factors include respect for labour rights with particular regard to child labour, forced labour, health and safety standards and non-discrimination. Arc de Triomphe managing director Olivier Chavy said: "I made the commitment to ISO 9001 and SA 8000 certification with a view to giving this young hotel stronger foundations and assuring its day-to-day long-term ethical integrity and quality for every guest and team member."
