New director for AEO

Phil Woods is to join the team at the Events Industry Alliance (EIA) as director for the Association of Exhibition Organisers (AEO). Woods comes to the AEO from outside the events industry, having previously been sales and marketing director at electrolysis equipment manufacturer Sterex Electrolysis International Ltd. Prior to this he worked for BABTAC Ltd, the trade association for beauty therapists, where he was responsible for boosting the image and profile of the association and increasing membership numbers. "I am delighted to be welcoming Phil to this important role in the business and for the industry," said EIA group chief executive Trevor Foley. "He brings a wealth of experience to the association and will also offer a new perspective on the industry." Woods starts his new role on 5 June. Also new to the team is business development manager Marie Peck, who takes over from Mervyn Ramsay. Peck was previously the account manager for conferences and events at Excel London.
