MPI Europe achieves growth target early

MPI Europe met its target of attaining 1,500 members by the end of June 2006 three months early – representing a 40% rise in three years – delegates were told at the MPI Professional Education Conference (PEC) Europe in Davos in March. The target was set in 2003 by the European Council to boost numbers from its existing 1,100 members, and was achieved before this year’s PEC took place. A further 100 members are expected to join before July. At the same time, the association also announced plans for the formation of a Spanish chapter, whose growth target will be 150 members enrolled by June 2007. MPI director of European operations Didier Scaillet said in the the next two years MPI Europe would focus on consolidation. “We do have ambitious growth targets for next year – we want another 17% – but we want to achieve this through supporting our existing chapters and broadening their membership base, particularly in the UK, Germany and France,” he said. “Opening further chapters is not necessarily a priority – although we are of course open to any opportunities that arise.”
