MCI opens Dubai office

Global events, communications and association management company MCI has opened a regional office in Dubai, UAE, following the recent announcement of a Singapore office and a strategic alliance in the American market. MCI’s Dubai operation will serve its major clients’ EMEA meetings and events and will be followed by expansions in other nearby cities in the Middle East. Sumaira Isaacs will head MCI – Dubai Office as managing director, reporting to corporate division CEO Sébastien Tondeur. Isaacs, who also serves as vice-president on the Society of Incentive Travel Executives (SITE) international board of directors, brings with her a solid understanding and track record within the MICE sector. The MCI – Dubai Office team is being complemented with an events director, a creative director and an operations director and will boost at least seven staff within the first six months of operation. Isaacs commented: “Dubai has seen phenomenal growth in the past five years in the meetings industry. However, there was a need in the market for a cutting edge communications, events and association management agency to take things to the next level.” MCI president Roger Tondeur confirmed: “The Dubai opening fits perfectly in our five-year strategic plan to be present in the major business hubs around the globe. I am personally thrilled that such an experienced personality as Sumaira will lead the Middle Eastern operations for MCI”.
