QEII appoints new senior sales executive

The Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre (QEIICC) has appointed Marie Huthwaite as senior sales executive. Among other tasks, Huthwaite will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the centre’s reservation system and will also take an active role in yield management. Huthwaite recently returned to business school where she received a Masters in Tourism Administration (with a concentration in event management) from the George Washington University in Washington DC. This, combined with her previous experience in sales for a tradeshow and event marketing agency in Chicago, makes her appointment significant. QEIICC commercial director Stephen Norcliffe commented: “It is great to welcome another new member to the centre and continue to build on the experience of our talented and enthusiastic team. The knowledge and experience that Marie has built up within the industry and is now applying in her new role, will be of great relevance and benefit to both clients and us.” Huthwaite added: “I chose The QEIICC as it has such a solid reputation within the conference and exhibition industry. I am looking forward to becoming part of the team and to developing and applying my sales skills to the market.”
