Hayley Conference Centres in Sunday Times ‘best companies’ list

Hayley Conference Centres has been named as one of the UK’s best companies to work for. The company, positioned number 70, is the only representative of the hospitality industry in The Sunday Times list unveiled at the weekend. Managing Director Norman Bellone said: “This is a tremendous accolade. Two years ago we launched the Hayley Way, which brought with it a huge culture change. This award is prestigious recognition that we are offering great career opportunities and delivering excellent customer service. “We firmly believe in the wisdom that if you want to grow your empire you must first grow your people.” The Hayley Way sees colleagues attending a daily “line-up” to learn about the business, a reward system for customer service, champagne and cake to celebrate birthdays, plus regular and meaningful training. The company, which celebrates its 15th anniversary later this year, was founded at Sedgebrook Hall, Chapel Brampton. It now operates eight centres. The Sunday Times 100 Best Companies To Work For, sponsored by the Department of Trade and Industry, is an important benchmark for research into employee satisfaction. The results are determined by the staff themselves, who are asked to give ratings for categories including their wellbeing, what they think of their manager, whether or not they get a fair deal at work and personal growth. Announcing Hayley Conference Centres’ place in the list, the judges praised the company’s emphasis on teamwork and revealed that 84% of staff found their colleagues fun to work with.
