Lufthansa expands London City services

Lufthansa is expanding its services from London City with a new service to Stuttgart and increased frequencies to Dusseldorf and Frankfurt. This will increase the number of Lufthansa flights from the Docklands airport to 50 a week, an increase of almost 40 per cent, from the start of the summer timetable 2006. The airline is also introducing an additional weekday (Monday to Friday) early afternoon service to Dusseldorf, increasing the number of weekly flights from ten to 16, and an extra Saturday and Sunday service to Frankfurt, making a total of 18 weekly flights from London City. Lufthansa is also expanding further into Asia. With three additional connections to Shanghai from Frankfurt plus two additional flights to Hong Kong and four to Beijing from Munich, the number of non-stop services offered by the German carrier is growing to a total of 52 weekly flights to China. The Asia programme will be rounded off by the inclusion of four additional connections per week from Frankfurt to Hyderabad.
