Liverpool Arena appoints head of sales

The Liverpool Arena & Convention Centre (LACC) has appointed Kerrin MacPhie as head of sales. She joins from The Mersey Partnership where she was commercial tourism manager. Her new role sees her responsible for all aspects of sales and marketing for the new convention centre, scheduled to open in 2008, the year of Liverpool’s European Capital of Culture status. Bob Prattey, CEO of the LACC, said: “We are thrilled to have secured such a high flyer for this role. We knew that LACC needed someone with drive, commitment and vision, and Kerrin has these in abundance. She will certainly be a major boost to our senior management team.” Commenting on her appointment she said: “I am thrilled to have the opportunity to come on board such an exciting new development in these early stages. In my former role I have been selling the idea of LACC for several years to prospective buyers, it is great to be able to do it for real. LACC will transform Liverpool in many ways: it will transform the business tourism offering from the city, opening up opportunities for large scale events, it will transform the World heritage site of Liverpool’s famous waterfront and it will transform perceptions of Liverpool in line with the city’s status as Europe’s Capital of Culture in 2008. I am delighted that I will be a driving force behind the fulfillment of LACC’s potential.”
