Lesley Mason joins George P Johnson

Lesley Mason has been appointed senior account director at the George P Johnson Company (GPJ), hot on the heels of another recent appointment – IBM’s Malcolm Greig. Mason joins GPJ from SBG & Finex Communications, where she headed up its biggest client, Sky. Her team covered all Sky’s routes to market – direct, retail and online, handled 200 campaigns per month and was crucial to its customer acquisition strategy. Prior to this, Mason was at Gyrogroup overseeing key accounts such as Nortel, MCI, Hitachi Data Systems and BT and Adobe – where she developed the corporate identity which has been adopted globally by the company. Mason also has strong client-side credentials. She spent 13 years at Compaq/Hewlett Packard, ultimately becoming head of integrated marketing communications, managing the team responsible for all advertising, direct mail, collateral and event production in the UK and Ireland. GPJ vice-president and general manager EMEA Kim Myhre commented: “We are thrilled that Lesley is joining us. She has strategically directed critical global campaigns for some of the world’s most exciting and successful business and consumer brands. She brings with her a real understanding of how to inspire creatives and yet also has that all-important commercial rigour.” Lesley Mason’s appointment is part of GPJ’s ongoing strengthening of its European team to support the agency’s growing roster of global clients, including Cisco, Vodafone, Motorola, IBM, Unlilever, Siebel, Sun, Astrazeneca, Novell and Daimler Chrysler.
